Legislative Update --   April 11, 2000

Today, the Assembly Budget Subcommittee on Education Finance approved $1.4 billion in nedw spending for K-12 edcuation, community colleges, and financiall aid for needy students.  Of particular interest to CCFC members, community colleges will receive $300 million for strengthening the quality of teaching, increasing opportunities for poorer students to attend a community college and expanding economic development partnerships between colleges and private business.
