PROPOSITION 47 UPDATE

Today the Sacramento Court reviewed the Proposition 47 ballot arguments. The review was in consideration of a challenge to the opposition arguments. The court accepted a majority of the challenge and ordered a deletion of factual inaccuracies.

The effect of the order will be to provide more balance in the opposition argument and delete inaccurate references to advantages for Los Angeles Unified School District. The argument will reflect, however, the fact that Los Angeles Unified is expected to receive 24% of the new construction funds while having only 12% of the statewide K-12 enrollment.
