Paul Holmes Facilities Leadership Achievement Award

Paul Holmes founded the Community College Facility Coalition and dedicated much of his career in service to the organization. He tirelessly pursued State funding opportunities and advocated on behalf of California’s community colleges. Paul also traveled the world, ran marathons, climbed mountains and sailed ships. His passion for school finance and policy, sportsmanship, wry sense of humor and adventurous spirit impacted many in the community college facilities industry.

Each year at our Annual Conference, the Board of Directors presents the Paul Holmes Facilities Leadership Achievement Award to a member of CCFC who demonstrates a commitment and dedication to the organization’s mission and vision of enhancing facilities for the students of California’s community colleges. Nominations for this award are now being solicited from the CCFC membership all year long. Click here to nominate a colleague for this honor!

Professional Design Awards Program

The CCFC Professional Design Awards are presented annually at the CCFC Conference, in conjunction with the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office. In addition to outstanding architectural design, awards are given based on merit, honor and excellence. Each project recognized incorporates outstanding institutional features that enhance the community college learning environment.

Any registered California architect, community college district or builder with projects in the stated categories within the boundaries of California is eligible. All projects are evaluated on their own individual merits.

Submit your Declaration of Intent by Friday, May 23, for the chance to see your project on the big screen at the 32nd Annual Conference on November 6, 2025.
